The first phase of affordable housing in Makkah is nearing completion
Mecca-Amlak
The pace of work is accelerating to complete and finalize the first phase of the affordable housing project in Makkah, consisting of 23 residential buildings with a total of 500 housing units in addition to a number of commercial buildings and other business and public services, and includes a modern network of roads and streets and water, electricity and sewage systems.
This comes after the Affordable Housing Supervisory Committee finalized the contact with the owners and owners of the housing units that took place earlier in order to inspect the owners of the housing units and see them on the ground in order to closely review the final preparations and provide their comments to be included before the final finishing and handover operations.
The work currently being carried out includes interior finishing of the residential units, including carpentry installations, wall whitewashing, electrical work, tiling and paving, while the external infrastructure work is in full swing, including road preparations, electricity, water and sewage extensions.
Engineer Mamdouh Al Harbi, Executive Director of Makkah Oasis, emphasized that strict criteria have been set for contracting companies, using the highest engineering standards that include all safety and public health requirements, which ensure the protection of lives and property from natural hazards.
He added that the designs of the units were chosen according to environmental and economic parameters that take into account sustainability, achieve healthy building factors, rationalize energy and water consumption, and improve the indoor environment. It is noteworthy that the Makkah Oasis project contains 2400 residential units, divided into two geographical areas, including 1700 affordable housing units and 700 developed housing units ranging from villas, duplexes and apartments of different sizes and sizes, which are still under sale, in addition to a number of commercial and service buildings and public facilities that are in the middle of several plans.
The Makkah Oasis project includes residential units with areas starting from 80 square meters for the residential unit up to 120 square meters, but the demand for the largest area is the highest, so we produced the largest number of units with an area of 120 square meters, pointing out that the small areas are suitable for young people and families at the beginning of their formation, because the young man who wants to build a family needs housing within his income, then owning this (asset) itself provides the possibility of moving to a larger housing in the future as income improves.
