Ministry of Labor: “Saudi Oger” Employees’ Rights Are Protected… 600 Saudi Employees Transferred to Other Companies

The Ministry of Labor and Social Development announced that it is working to resolve the labor issue at “Saudi Oger,” noting that all the rights of the workers employed by the company are documented with the ministry, and that it has appointed lawyers to represent these workers before the Kingdom’s judicial authorities.

In the same context, Khalid Aba Al-Khail, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, explained that the ministry is currently working to transfer the services of 600 Saudi employees to other companies out of a total of 1,200 Saudi staff members who were previously employed by the company, which had a total workforce of 8,000. As for the remaining Saudi employees, the Minister of Labor and Social Development and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf), Dr. Ali bin Nasser Al-Ghafis, has directed the fund to find suitable job opportunities for them.

The Ministry’s official spokesperson noted that the expatriate workers employed at the facility were brought in under temporary contracts, and those who wish to transfer their services to other facilities may do so. and for those wishing to leave the Kingdom after the end of their employment period and their contractual relationship with the facility, departure procedures have been facilitated for them, while fully preserving their rights, in coordination with the embassies of their respective countries.

It is worth noting that since the company’s financial difficulties began, the Ministry has addressed the issues of more than 16,000 migrant workers, 11,500 of whom have since left the country. and the Ministry has transferred approximately 3,800 migrant workers to other companies, after ensuring all their rights were documented and appointing law firms to represent them and claim their rights.
