Formation of a Ministerial Committee to Review the Results... Bonus for Members of the Committee Investigating Violations of the Vacant Land Fee System

The Council of Ministers, chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, in Riyadh, decided to form a ministerial committee to review the results of the timeline for implementing fees on undeveloped land, propose appropriate measures regarding this matter, and submit an annual report on the matter to the Council. It also approved the Land Committee’s bonuses. The two decisions state the following: After reviewing the report submitted by the Minister of Housing, and after reviewing the recommendation prepared by the Council of Economic and Development Affairs No. (10–75/38/D) dated 3/12/1438, the Council of Ministers decided to form a committee chaired by the Minister of Finance, with the following as members: the Minister of State and Member of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Essam bin Saad bin Saeed, the Minister of Commerce and Investment, the Minister of Housing, and Mr. Fahd Al-Sukait, Advisor at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers. This committee is tasked with carrying out the provisions of Article (14) of the Vacant Land Fees Regulation issued by Royal Decree No. (M/4) dated 12/2/1437, which stipulates that the Council of Ministers shall appoint whomever it deems appropriate to review the results of the timeline for implementing the fee, propose whatever it deems appropriate in this regard, and submit an annual report thereon to the Council.

Furthermore, after reviewing the report submitted by the Minister of Housing, and after reviewing the recommendation prepared by the Council of Economic and Development Affairs No. (17–1/139/D) dated January 5, 1439, the Council of Ministers has decided that the Minister of Housing shall determine the remuneration of the members of the committee tasked with reviewing violations of the provisions of the Vacant Land Fees Law and its implementing regulations, as stipulated in Article 7 of the Vacant Land Fees Law, issued by Royal Decree No. (M/4) dated 12/2/1437, provided that such remuneration be paid from the Ministry of Housing’s own resources and the financial appropriations allocated to it.
