During his tour of the Dubai Creek project—developed by Emaar Properties at a total cost of 3.67 billion dirhams—Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, observed the progress of construction work, with more than 50% of concrete work—scheduled for completion by the middle of this year—already finished.

Emaar Chairman Mohamed Alabbar explained that multiple layers of reinforced concrete, 20 meters deep, have been poured to cover the tower’s supports, noting that to date, approximately 25,000 cubic meters of concrete—weighing about 60,000 metric tons—have been poured, in addition to the use of about 12,000 metric tons of reinforced steel on the supports, which is nearly twice the weight of the Eiffel Tower.

The Dubai Creek Tower spans an area of 6 kilometers and is located 10 minutes from Dubai International Airport. The tower will surpass all current records for skyscrapers, including the Burj Khalifa, which stands at 828 meters, to become the tallest building in the world.
