The Federation of GCC Chambers, in cooperation with the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Islamic Center for Trade Development of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, is organizing the training course «Export Auditing and Capacity Building to Enhance the Competitiveness of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in GCC Countries» in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, from September 1–3, 2014. The course aims to enhance the role of reviewing business concepts related to exports and the strategies adopted for auditing companies, as well as to improve their ability to audit their own operations and enhance their human resources and export processes. Through its member chambers, the Federation’s General Secretariat invited all relevant entities to participate in the workshop, including export development centers in GCC countries, small and medium-sized enterprises, and business owners, and to benefit from its outcomes aimed at raising export levels and strengthening the strategies of these entities. Bassam Atwa, Director of the Events Department at the Secretariat, stated that a memorandum of understanding will be signed during the session between the Islamic Center for Trade Development and the Federation of GCC Chambers in the presence of the Federation’s Secretary-General, Abdul Rahim Naqi, who will deliver a speech during the workshop’s opening ceremony, Dr. Al-Hassan Ahzain, Director General of the Islamic Center for Trade Development, will also deliver a speech during the workshop. The workshop program will include an overview of export auditing, its methods and techniques, types of export audits, and the risks and limitations of export auditing. Atwa explains that the program includes an examination of business concepts and corporate strategy, as well as an analysis of business concepts and strengths in competitiveness, as well as factors of attractiveness and an analysis of business capabilities, the company’s ability to accurately assess the market, and its capacity to ensure the quality of inputs, process those inputs, provide appropriate solutions, and serve the market. The course also covers export and transaction auditing measures, ranging from export strategy to export transactions, terms of sale, international trade terms, and means of payment, as well as packaging, labeling for export, customs clearance, and shipping.
