“My Riyadh” Records 480 Field Observations Across 13 Municipalities

The Riyadh Municipal Council recently held its 82nd session, chaired by Council President Khalid Al-Aridi, at its headquarters in the Al-Malaz neighborhood.
At the beginning of the meeting, the council reviewed a report on the most significant follow-ups to its decisions during the past period, including the Ministry of Transportation’s response to the council’s recommendation regarding the poor quality of the asphalt and the numerous cracks on the Dirab Public Road, as well as the improvement and development of the entrance to the Al-Mahdiya neighborhood in Arqa, traffic congestion on Salman Al-Farsi Road, and the relocation of plastic factories and plants in the Al-Muzaini and Al-Shafa Industrial Zones.
Ahmed Al-Shammari, Chairman of the Council’s Finance and Investment Committee, reviewed the draft budget reports of the Riyadh Municipality for the year 2022, and the Secretariat’s final accounts for the year 2020, during which the Council raised a number of observations, recommending their approval and instructing the Secretariat to take into account several observations regarding the reports.
Meanwhile, members of the Municipal Council presented a report on the field visit to the Al-Sali Sub-Municipality, during which the Council recommended that His Highness the Mayor of Riyadh be informed of the observations made, in order to address the residents“ concerns.
The Council also discussed several issues related to the Council’s Committee for Persons with Disabilities and the Elderly. Council member Huda Al-Juraisi presented the committee’s recommendation to upgrade the Riyadh Municipality’s Unit for Persons with Disabilities to a general department, which Council members approved, and it was recommended that the proposal be submitted to the Secretariat.
For his part, Council Chairman Khalid Al-Aridi reviewed the statistical results of the survey for the ”Priorities of Our Neighborhoods,” which the Council launched last month. The Council recommended forming a working group to analyze the survey results based on the ten municipal districts and identify priorities in each district.
The Council Chairman also reviewed a report on the follow-up results of observations from the second phase of field visits within the sub-municipalities, during which more than 480 field observations were recorded across the 13 sub-municipalities visited so far, with 77% of the observations pertaining to municipal services, while observations related to other service providers totaled 23%. The Council recommended working with the Secretariat and relevant authorities to follow up on the implementation of the observations from the field visits within the sub-municipalities.
