In an interview with Metro, she offered the following tips for an eco-friendly home makeover:
With this in mind, she offered the following tips for an eco-friendly home makeover:
Buy new sustainable furniture

Jane recommends buying new, sustainable furniture for a modern, eco-friendly interior, so she recommends strong, durable furniture and décor pieces that can last for many years. You can also buy furniture that can be updated and repaired. If you get bored with your furniture years after buying it, you can reupholster it or add new cushions.
Bathroom and kitchen decor

Decorating bathrooms and kitchens is usually the biggest expense in a home. But it's not just about aesthetics; it's important to have modern designs, the right lighting, and an atmosphere that's conducive to comfort and relaxation. According to Jane, periodic updates to simple things in the bathroom and kitchen such as new handles, repainting or replacing door fronts can make a difference.
Selling old furniture for recycling

It is advisable to sell old doors, handles, light fixtures, and excess building materials, and use the money to buy new furniture, as this will save you from throwing away these things that may turn into waste that harms the environment. You can also buy old furniture, modify it or recycle it to refurbish your interiors at cheap prices.
Depend on natural light as much as possible

Maximize natural light and don't use large amounts of electric lights at home.
Smart lighting design can lead to savings on energy bills and less impact on the environment. Low-energy LED bulbs are recommended.
Use wood

Wood is a great natural material that can be used on floors and can last a lifetime, but only if it is sourced sustainably. Cork is also very eco-friendly because it is waste-free, not to mention a great insulator, and is waterproof when treated so it can be used in kitchens and bathrooms.
