More than 100 government competitions in the operation and maintenance sector with an estimated cost of more than 19 billion Saudi riyals have been identified. <The six partners in the initiative, represented by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the Ministry of Finance, the Spending Efficiency and Government Projects Authority, the Human Resources Development Fund, the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation and the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority, provide a number of incentives, enablers and support programs to establishments operating in the operation and maintenance sector targeted in the Emiratization program, in order to contribute to developing and improving the work environment in the sector, supporting it to grow and expand in attracting national cadres, in addition to implementing programs to support the rehabilitation and empowerment of citizens and nationals The initiative aims to provide attractive job opportunities for male and female citizens in the sector, improve the work environment in the sector to attract national cadres, stimulate the growth of the sector and enhance its role and participation in economic development, in addition to contributing to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in raising the level of participation of Saudis in the labor market.

<The Local Content and Government Procurement Authority was established by royal decree in December 2018, and its Board of Directors is chaired by His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef. The Authority aims to develop local content in all its components at the level of the national economy, and to upgrade and follow up government procurement works in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.
The Authority has been assigned a set of responsibilities and tasks translated into 6 strategic functions starting with the formulation of policies and regulations by following up the regulations, analyzing them and proposing changes to ensure the achievement of the Authority's objectives and proposing and studying draft regulations
<The Authority follows up on compliance and implementation to ensure that local content requirements across the government sector are effectively implemented and follow up on local content within the work of state-owned companies and entities, enable regulatory tools and follow up on the implementation of localization and knowledge transfer agreements, in addition to managing government demand to ensure analysis and inventory of demand forecasts for products and services, support business decisions and their implementation to identify local content development opportunities and maximize the benefit from government procurement, and support the application of contracting methods such as localization of industry, knowledge transfer, economic participation, and framework agreements
The Authority works on business intelligence by collecting, maintaining and analyzing data to support procurement and local content development processes, and raises awareness of the concept of local content by providing experts and training services to ensure effective implementation of procurement and local content regulations.
