<Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al Jasser today sponsored the signing of the contract for the Saudi Road Code Project, one of the projects of the initiative to improve the life cycle cost of roads and improve performance within the programs of Saudi Vision 2030, in the presence of a number of ministers and senior officials of the entities involved in the preparation and development of the code, in the presence of a number of ministers and senior officials of the entities involved in the preparation and development of the code.
The project aims to be a technical reference for the authorities responsible for roads at all levels, through the preparation and development of a Saudi road code prepared by the National Road Safety Center in partnership with the relevant authorities, commissioned and supported by the Ministry.
It also seeks to achieve the best levels of safety and security, quality, economic efficiency, environment and sustainability through many areas, the most important of which are: It promises to use the latest technical guides and general specifications for the construction of roads and bridges, in addition to guidelines, drawings, procedures, checklists and governance to activate the code and its requirements on all road networks belonging to the partner entities, for a period of 18 months.
The Saudi Road Code project comes as a unification of technical and operational specifications for all sectors and to achieve the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which aims to reach the sixth place globally.
