The Saudi Council of Engineers confirmed that professional registration is one of the objectives of the professional practice system, noting a significant increase in the number of registered members—including individuals, companies, and engineering firms—through a rise in the number of applicants seeking accreditation from the Council.
The Authority also announced that 8,000 engineering consulting firms have been licensed, while the number of licenses for engineering firms stood at 3,137, of which 2,186 were valid, 701 were provisional, and 251 had expired, while the number of engineering consulting firm licenses stood at 3,924, of which 1,708 were valid, 409 were provisional, and 1,807 had expired.
The Authority clarified that the number of licenses for specialized engineering firms stood at 1,043, of which 252 were valid, 235 were provisional, and 556 had expired, in addition to 275 licenses for engineering support services firms, of which 159 are valid and 116 have expired, and finally, 117 engineering safety consulting firms, of which 67 licenses are valid, 10 are provisional, and 40 have expired.
The Authority is working with relevant entities to develop the national workforce of male and female engineers, specialists, technicians, and male and female students in engineering programs.
This contributes significantly to achieving the Authority’s goals, initiatives, and programs, which include priorities such as developing the professional examination system, research, innovation, and institutional excellence.
