The Council of Ministers, chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, agreed during its meeting held yesterday afternoon at Al Yamamah Palace, that the Ministry of Agriculture should, within three years from the date of this decision, take stock of the decisions to distribute wastelands whose owners did not apply for ownership, identify those lands and determine what was invested in them before that date, complete the procedures for ownership of those who invested the required percentage for ownership, and take the necessary measures - according to the law - to cancel the jurisdiction of those who did not invest the assigned land, document it and limit its use to the public interest.
The decision included the rectification of the status of agricultural lands, provided that the applicant had applied for rectification to the Ministry of Agriculture or one of its branches prior to the entry into force of the aforementioned Supreme Order stopping the distribution of wastelands.
The Council emphasized that the success of the decision is due to the fact that the Ministry of Agriculture and its branches have been able to rectify the situation.
The Council emphasized that the Kingdom's success in maintaining its high credit rating despite economic pressures reflects the robustness of the Saudi economy and its ability to cope with cyclical fluctuations and reflects the success of the Kingdom's economic policy.
