The General Authority for Statistics announced on Wednesday that the total housing units in the Kingdom recently reached 8.2 million units, with apartments accounting for 50.6% (mostly in Makkah at 66.8%), and 60.6% of Saudi citizens have become homeowners, especially after the ambitious “Sakani” program.
Regarding households in Saudi Arabia, the new census talked about their number, which amounted to 8.2 million households, the average size of one household came to about 3.7 individuals, the total number of Saudi households is 4.2 million, and 4.8 individuals as an average family size.

As for the demographics of the Kingdom, as the report explained, a total of 32.2 million people were recorded, with a growth rate of 34.2% from the 2010 census, with the capital Riyadh having the highest percentage of residents and citizens, amounting to 8.6 million people.

The Kingdom is characterized by its young population, with the average age of the population reaching 29 years, the average age of Saudis is 25 years, and the percentage of Saudis under the age of 30 years reached 63% of the total number of Saudis, while the number of housing in the Kingdom reached more than 8 million residences, of which residential apartments account for 51%.
