His Highness Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, Governor of Jeddah, inaugurated yesterday the forum “The Future of Architecture and Urbanism towards Improving the Quality of Life”, organized by the Saudi Society for Urban Sciences, in the presence of the President of the Saudi Society for Urban Sciences, Dr. Ghazi Al Abbasi, and the CEO of the forum, Chairman of the Jeddah Branch of the Saudi Society for Urban Sciences, Engineer Anas Serafi, as well as representatives of the Architects" Association, at Jeddah Park Center.

The CEO of the forum then delivered a speech in which he explained that in light of the urban boom in the Kingdom, there is interest in cultural heritage and urban heritage represented in a number of initiatives to revive and activate historical sites and landmarks and create heritage destinations, resulting in the registration so far of 7 sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List and a similar number awaiting announcement.
