Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, President of the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage and Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the National Program for Exhibitions and Conferences, and His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province – Chairman of the Region’s Tourism Development Council, the Third Saudi Forum for Conferences and Exhibitions will be held from 26–28 Muharram 1437 AH, corresponding to November 8–10, 2015, at the Sheraton Dammam Hotel. The relevant committees have finalized the forum’s scientific program.
During its sessions, the forum will discuss the foundations for developing the exhibitions and conferences sector in the Kingdom. Through discussions with officials and stakeholders, it will explore how to diversify and support the economic base through the exhibitions and conferences sector, It will also address the fundamentals of organizing exhibitions and conferences in the Eastern Province. The forum will cover the development of regulations and frameworks in the exhibitions and conferences sector, strategic directions for the sector’s development, as well as projects for cities and conference and exhibition centers in the Kingdom.
The forum provides young people with the opportunity to gain a close-up view of the exhibitions and conferences industry through «Future Leaders Day,» which is dedicated to this age group. Officials and decision-makers are expected to discuss with young people at the Future Leaders meeting employment and investment opportunities in the exhibitions and conferences sector and support for investment projects in this sector; successful youth experiences in managing exhibitions and conferences will also be reviewed.
The forum sessions will be accompanied by 12 workshops, which will address a number of key issues in the exhibitions and conferences sector under various themes, including consumer goods exhibitions, consumer protection against counterfeit and adulterated goods, intellectual property rights in the exhibition and conference sector and the Ministry of Information’s role in protecting them, and media monitoring and documentation at exhibitions and conferences.
