Payment of residential leases starts today, Monday, January 15, through digital channels only, and will not accept payment outside the Ejar platform, according to the General Real Estate Authority announced earlier. Taysir Al-Mufaraj, spokesperson for the General Real Estate Authority, said that the decision includes «residential leases» only, explaining that commercial leases are not covered by this decision, pointing out that commercial leases are completely different in their parties and requirements from residential ones.

He pointed out that the contracts covered by this decision are the new contracts starting from January 15, while the existing contracts continue as they are in the previous payment, and in case they expire and there is a new tenant, the new payment mechanism will be applied.
