The Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing concluded its participation in the second edition of Gulf Housing Week, hosted by the Qatari capital, Doha, with the participation of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states from May 13–16, to discuss the challenges and opportunities for the development of sustainable urban communities.
The Ministry showcased its efforts in the development and advancement of the housing sector through the exhibition accompanying Gulf Housing Week, featuring an interactive pavilion showcasing residential suburban projects implemented by the National Housing Company and the advanced services offered by the “Baladi” app in its upgraded version, in addition to highlighting the Kingdom’s efforts to attract local and international investments and bring in the largest real estate companies and developers.
Also participating was the Undersecretary for Housing Supply Stimulation andReal Estate Development at the Ministry, Abdulrahman Al-Tawil, in a panel discussion attended by senior housing officials, during which he reviewed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to humanize housing projects, including the integrated residential suburbs being developed in various regions of the Kingdom, whose designs take into account the highest standards of quality of life and the humanization of cities.
During its participation in Gulf Housing Week, the Ministry presented three working papers reviewing a number of important housing issues; including the application of value engineering in innovation and design, reducing costs while maintaining housing quality through modern technologies, and enhancing the identity and urban character of cities.
