The Ministry of Buildings and Housing, represented by the Development Housing Agency, announced the distribution of 6,000 housing units to needy families in various regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the first half of 2024. The move comes as part of the ministry's ongoing efforts to provide adequate housing for the beneficiaries of the “Developmental Housing” program.

In a press release, the ministry said it aims to inject more than 18,000 new housing units during the second half of this year to enable more needy families to obtain adequate housing.

Comprehensive support for beneficiary families
The role of Development Housing was not limited to providing housing units only, but included providing comprehensive support to beneficiary families, as the program contributed since the beginning of the year to:
- Supporting more than 19,000 cases of housing rental defaults.
- Implemented 25,000 developmental interventions to address the developmental needs of families.
- Processing 15,000 requests for services provided.
Improving the beneficiary experience and promoting community development
On the other hand, the Ministry has worked to improve the beneficiary experience through:
- Conducting about 99 thousand digital operations to facilitate the services provided.
- Providing 135 development programs for the neediest families.
- Established and empowered 35 non-profit organizations.
