Saudi Aramco—one of the world’s leading integrated energy and chemicals companies—began work yesterday on the construction of “Aramco Stadium” with a capacity of approximately 47,000 seats.
Construction of the new stadium, to be built in Al-Khobar, is expected to be completed by 2026, making it the home stadium for Al-Qadisiyah Club, owned by Saudi Aramco, and one of the main venues for the Asian Cup, which the Kingdom will host in 2027.
Saudi Aramco is working in collaboration with the “Roshon”—a company of the Public Investment Fund—to build a soccer stadium that incorporates the latest global technologies and integrated cooling systems to provide an ideal environment for spectators.
The stadium’s design is inspired by the whirlpools commonly seen off the coast of Al-Khobar, blending tradition and innovation.
This architectural masterpiece reinforces the Kingdom’s status as host of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, as the stadium is expected to serve as the primary venue for hosting the region’s most prominent sporting and entertainment events, and the leading destination in the Eastern Province, featuring VIP sections and suites, as well as facilities designed to meet the needs of the community and people with special needs.
On this occasion, Nabil Al-Jama, Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Support Services at Saudi Aramco, reaffirmed Saudi Aramco’s belief that sports play an active role in creating opportunities, improving quality of life, and positively impact society. For this reason, the company aspires for the Aramco Stadium to serve as a beacon for national and international sports, entertainment, and community events in the Eastern Province.
He noted that this project aims to develop health programs, encourage participation in sports, expand community engagement, and contribute to social development.
