The Eastern Province Municipality removed, during the first half of this calendar year, 26,720 cubic meters of construction debris and rubble in Dhahran, as well as 3,813 unauthorized advertising posters from the facades of homes, commercial stores, and streetlights throughout the city.

The Eastern Province Municipality explained that these efforts are part of a comprehensive program to clean up the city, remove all solid waste and debris that may mar the public landscape, preserve the environment, enhance the city’s tourist appeal and aesthetic appeal, and achieve its environmental and development goals. It noted that the proliferation of unauthorized advertising posters distorts the visual appearance of streets and residential neighborhoods, making it necessary to address this phenomenon.

During the first half of the same year, the Secretariat also repaired 258 streets and roads in Al-Bayda Governorate that had been damaged by sewage, surface water, and rain, using more than one million linear meters of milled asphalt.

It explained that 18 sites were drained, with more than 2 million cubic meters of surface water and rainwater removed, in addition to the use of more than 176,000 cubic meters of sand for necessary backfilling work, while 672 reports regarding street damage, rainwater accumulation, and areas requiring backfilling or drainage were addressed.
