The Shura Council held on Tuesday its seventh regular session of the first year of the ninth session under the chairmanship of His Excellency the Speaker of the Council, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, at the beginning of the session, the Council reviewed the agenda of its seventh regular session and the items on which it took the necessary decisions.

The Council issued a decision approving the amendment of the application system of Saudi Building Code, issued by Royal Decree No. (M/43) dated 26/4/1438H, which included amending the definition of ”National Committee” in Article (1), to read as follows: “The Center”: Saudi Building Code Center”. The decision also included approving the amendment of the phrase “the National Committee” to be “the Center”, and the phrase “Minister of Commerce and Investment, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization” to be “Minister of Municipalities and Housing”, in Article (Fifteenth). The Council took its decision after listening to a report submitted by the Council's Hajj, Housing and Services Committee, read by Council member Dr. Atiyah Al-Attawi, Chairman of the Committee, on the establishment of the Saudi Center for Building Code.
