Al-Hogail: Selling units to non-beneficiaries is a step to balance the real estate market

The approval allows for the sale of units in the Ministry’s projects to new segments, subject to regulatory controls that ensure transparency and take market needs into account

The Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Majed Al-Hogail, confirmed that granting the Ministry the authority to sell units in its housing projects to non-beneficiaries housing subsidies in accordance with specific regulations; is an extension of the wise leadership’s support for the housing sector, and aims to expand homeownership and facilitate citizens“ journey toward owning suitable housing.

Al-Hogail said in a statement via the ”X“ platform: ”I extend my sincere thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince—may God protect them—for the Cabinet’s approval granting the Ministry the authority to sell units in its housing projects to non-beneficiaries of housing support, in accordance with specific regulations."

The minister noted that this decision reflects a shift toward flexible solutions that respond to market changes and support the maximum utilization of completed housing projects, thereby contributing to enhancing supply and achieving the desired balance.

The Cabinet had officially approved granting the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing the authority to sell housing units in its projects to non-recipients of housing subsidies, provided that this is done within a clear regulatory framework that ensures transparency and takes market needs into account, and is prepared in cooperation with the relevant authorities.
