His Excellency Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipalities and Housing, his official visit to the State of Kuwait, during which he led the Kingdom’s delegation at the 23rd meeting of the Committee of Their Excellencies the Ministers of Housing of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, with the participation of the ministers of housing from member states and in the presence of His Excellency the Secretary-General of the GCC.
The meetings saw the adoption of a number of technical guidance manuals, most notably the “Value Engineering Guide for Housing Projects in GCC Countries,” prepared by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as part of an effort to enhance spending efficiency and improve the quality of outcomes in Gulf housing projects.
In an achievement that reflects the Kingdom’s leadership in the field of sustainable urban development, the “Al-Fursan Front” project won first place in the Gulf Cooperation Council Housing Award, which is granted to the best and most distinguished housing projects across the Gulf states.
During the official ceremony, a number of key players in supporting housing initiatives were honored, including: The Sheikh Saleh bin Abdullah Kamel Humanitarian Foundation in the "Institutions" category, and Sulaiman bin Abdulqadir Al-Muheidib in the “Individuals” category, in recognition of their significant contributions to supporting the most needy families and providing developmental housing solutions.
On the sidelines of the meetings, His Excellency Minister Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail held a bilateral meeting with His Excellency Mr. Abdul Latif Al-Mashari, Minister of State for Housing Affairs and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs of the State of Kuwait, during which they discussed areas of mutual cooperation, mechanisms for exchanging expertise, and integration in the development of housing and municipal policies.
As part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations, two memoranda of understanding were signed in the fields of housing and municipal affairs between the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Public Authority for Housing Welfare, as well as with the Kuwait Municipality in the State of Kuwait. This will contribute to strengthening institutional partnerships, enhancing technical and knowledge exchange, and developing programs and initiatives of mutual interest.
The meetings concluded with the approval of the final draft of the unified rules for owners of jointly owned real estate in the GCC countries, in preparation for submitting them to the Supreme Council at its next session, as part of efforts aimed at regulating the real estate sector and strengthening governance and legislative integration among member states.
This participation underscores the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening Gulf cooperation in the housing sector and to fostering a participatory approach that enhances quality of life and aligns with comprehensive development goals and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
