<His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Mr. Jassim Mohammed Al Badiwi, stressed that the housing sector enjoys great attention from the leaders of the GCC countries, who directed to enhance the quality of life, achieve social welfare and ensure citizens' access to adequate housing within the framework of a comprehensive vision for development that integrates urban planning, housing finance and sustainable development efforts.
This came during the 23rd meeting of the GCC Ministers in charge of housing affairs in the State of Kuwait today, under the chairmanship of H.E. Abdullatif Hamed Al Mashari, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs of the State of Kuwait - Chairman of the current session - Engineer Abdullatif Hamed Al Mashari. His Excellency stressed that today's meeting confirms the blessed efforts to promote the development of the housing sector in the GCC countries, which directly affects the lives of citizens and is one of the pillars of sustainable development and social stability, by enhancing integration and coordination, exchanging expertise and successful experiences, maximizing the use of modern technologies, and developing unified housing policies, in line with the aspirations of the peoples of the GCC countries.
He praised the efforts and role of the Committee of GCC Ministers of Housing and Construction, and its technical committees, and the actions and objectives that reflect the spirit of joint Gulf cooperation and support the objectives of comprehensive development, stressing the commitment of the GCC General Secretariat to follow up all decisions, initiatives and efforts aimed at developing the housing sector, and cooperate with all competent authorities in the GCC countries to achieve the required integration, contributing to enhancing the quality of life.
