Prizes for the competition and details of the winning sites
The competition resulted in six engineering offices winning the design of major entrances to the metropolis of Dammam, including the following sites:
First site: Entrance to King Fahd International Airport in Dammam

Wide participation and a quality initiative
This competition is part of the first phase of the Dammam Metropolitan Entrance Development Project, which comes as a result of the cooperation agreement signed last January between the Eastern Province Municipality, the Eastern Province Development Authority, and the Al Fozan Community Service Program represented by the ”Majmoud Watan" initiative.
Majmoud Watan. More than 25 international and local specialized architectural offices were invited to participate in this closed competition, with the aim of developing the main entrances of Dammam metropolis and raising the quality of the urban landscape, in line with the highest aesthetic and urban standards.
The project is expected to contribute to enhancing the visual character of the city, providing welcoming entrances that reflect the history of the Eastern Province, while at the same time mimicking its development aspirations towards modern cities that embrace heritage and embrace the future.
