Sustainable Building Program revealed that the number of sustainability assessment service requests has tripled compared to the last five years, following the launch of the program's electronic platform, the automation of procedures for obtaining its services, and easy access, in addition to the development of the <a href="https://amlak.To enable real estate developers to submit inspection requests for villa complexes and residential buildings, with the ability to specify the number of units for each building, and modify the names and areas for each unit separately.

Sustainable Building Program explained in a press release that 6 projects obtained sustainability assessment certificates during the first half of 2025, an increase of (200%) compared to the same period in 2024, and the number of projects obtaining a design conformity document increased by (93%) to reach (29) projects.
Thirty-eight new projects were registered for sustainability assessment services, including (4) communities with a total area of more than (8) million meters (2), while the area of residential and commercial buildings reached more than (700) thousand meters (2), and more than (6) thousand reports were issued through the platform, ranging from inspection reports of finished buildings and construction quality reports.
The platform also announced that the number of projects with a design conformity document increased by (93%) to reach (29) projects. Sustainable Building Program, in cooperation with the General Authority for Real Estate, announced the possibility of registering university students registered with the Saudi Board of Engineers in the training programs offered by the Real Estate Institute, to support students, enhance their professional readiness, and enable young people to develop their competencies and create a “Certified Engineer” account in the Sustainable Building Platform.
“Sustainability Assessment” is the first Saudi assessment system developed according to international best practices aligned with the Saudi Building Code. It enables property owners and developers to measure the sustainability of new and existing buildings and communities through a comprehensive rating system that covers the design and construction or operation and maintenance phases, and the assessment is based on the points met from the sustainability criteria, according to five levels starting with the green level and ending with the diamond level.
Sustainability Assessment is the first Saudi assessment system developed according to international best practices aligned with the Saudi Building Code. It is noteworthy that the “Sustainability Assessment” criteria are designed to suit the local climate and environmental characteristics in the Kingdom, focusing on key areas such as (energy, water, health and quality of life), in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
