The Architecture and Design Authority has launched the Built Environment Design Competitions Guide, a comprehensive guiding reference that supports organizers of design competitions in the Kingdom and ensures that they are implemented according to the highest standards, under the title "Built Environment Design Competitions: A Guide to Achieving Excellence."

The guide aims to provide the necessary support to the various entities involved in organizing design competitions, ensuring their success, raising the quality of their work and ensuring their effectiveness by harmonizing them according to specific standards and a unified work mechanism, in addition to improving the quality of the outputs of design competitions for large and mega projects.

The guide covers three categories of design competitions. The guide covers three main disciplines in the field of built environment design, including architecture, environmental architecture, and urban design and planning, due to the similarity of the processes followed in competitions within these disciplines. The guide also helps create a stimulating competitive environment that enables architects and designers to contribute to the development and quality of the built environment in various regions of the Kingdom.
