The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has launched an updated version of the Guide to Health, Technical, and Safety Requirements for Collective Housing for Individuals, as part of its efforts to regulate this type of housing and standardize its regulations, thereby contributing to the provision of a safe and healthy living environment that meets the needs of residents and supports quality of life in the Kingdom’s cities.
The guide covers three main areas. The first is health requirements, which focus on ensuring the availability of basic elements necessary to maintain a healthy environment, including ventilation, hygiene, and the provision of essential services that safeguard the public health of residents, The second category consists of technical requirements, which specify the criteria for location, design, and construction in accordance with approved regulations and standards, and ensure the optimal use of facilities to meet needs and enhance operational efficiency.
The third track addresses safety standards, stipulating compliance with preventive measures, warning systems, and hazard protection, in addition to providing the necessary requirements to ensure the safety of lives and property.
The Ministry emphasized that the release of the updated version is an important step toward developing the regulatory framework for collective housing for individuals, and contributes to raising the level of compliance and ensuring a safer and more suitable residential environment, stressing that these efforts are part of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives to build sustainable cities that prioritize quality of life and place human safety at the forefront.
The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing is continuously working to update municipal regulations and develop its health and technical guidelines and safety standards; with the aim of regulating various activities and services, standardizing controls, and providing a safe and healthy urban environment that prioritizes quality of life and enhances the appeal of cities, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
