“Zatca calls on businesses to submit VAT returns for last month

The authority reminds businesses whose supplies exceed SAR 40 million to submit VAT returns for August before September 30.

Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has called on businesses subject to VAT whose annual supplies of goods and services exceed (40) million riyals to submit their tax returns for the month of August, no later than September 30 of this year.

ZATCA urged establishments to submit their tax returns via the website (https://zatca.gov.sa/ar/Pages/default.aspx), or submit and pay via the Authority's smartphone application (ZATCA) in order to avoid the penalty for late submission of the return within the specified period, at a minimum of (5%) and a maximum of (25%) of the tax value that the taxpayer had to declare.

ZATCA called on taxpayers to submit their tax returns by September 30. Business taxpayers wishing to obtain more information on VAT are invited to contact the Authority through the unified call center number (19993), which operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the "Ask Zakat, Tax and Customs" account on the X platform (@Zatca_Care), email ([email protected]), or live chat through the Authority's website.

Zatca's VAT is a tax on the value added tax (VAT), which is considered to be a minimum of (5%) and a maximum of (25%). VAT is one of the tax systems in force in the Kingdom. It is an indirect tax levied on all goods and services bought and sold by businesses with some exceptions.
