<His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Haram Visions, announced the launch of King Salman Gate as a mixed-use destination in Makkah.
King Salman Gate spans a total building area of up to 12 million square meters adjacent to the Grand Mosque.
The project aims to achieve a qualitative leap in the development of the infrastructure of the city of Makkah and the central area in particular to become a global model for urban development, to be a major contributor to support efforts to develop the area and facilitate the visit while providing high-quality services to the pilgrims and enriching their religious and cultural journey in line with the objectives of the program to serve the pilgrims.
The King Salman Gate project is strategically located next to the Grand Mosque and is a mixed-use destination aimed primarily at upgrading the system of services provided and providing residential, cultural and service facilities surrounding the Grand Mosque. The project adds capacity to accommodate approximately 900,000 worshipers in the internal prayer halls and external courtyards.
The project is linked to public transportation to facilitate access to the Grand Mosque, and represents an exceptional blend of the rich architectural heritage of Makkah with the finest modern lifestyles, ensuring the highest levels of comfort. The project also aims to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of Makkah by developing and rehabilitating an area of approximately 19,000 square meters of cultural and heritage areas, to enrich the experience of its visitors, as well as contribute to achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in terms of economic diversification by creating more than 300,000 job opportunities by 2036, God willing.
