<The Electricity and Co-Production Regulatory Authority (ECRA) has issued an updated version of the Electricity Service Provision Guide, which includes all the rules and regulations that the service provider must adhere to in accordance with the approved technical standards and codes. The guide specifies the need for the service provider to guarantee all the rights of the service applicant and the consumer, the most important of which is his right to obtain the service and to provide information about his subscription, the controls and procedures for the delivery of new electrical service and temporary electrical service and modification thereof, which include adding a new load, strengthening loads, reducing loads, aggregating loads, changing a meter with the same capacity, moving the meter, changing the voltage of electrical service, in addition to the controls of disconnecting, restoring and canceling electrical service, and controls for applying the approved consumption tariff, including a table showing details of consumption categories (residential, agricultural, government, commercial, commercial, and industrial), as well as the rules for applying the approved consumption tariffs. The guide explains the cost of delivering electrical service based on distribution and transmission efforts, through an indicative table to calculate these loads, according to the approved voltage and the financial compensation for electrical services. By updating, publishing and distributing this guide, the ERC aims to make all information and procedures available to consumers to know their rights, and that the procedures are unified among service providers, and the guide can be accessed by visiting the ERC website.
