With the aim of developing the skills of girls from underprivileged families and equipping them with handicraft skills that will enable them to become self-reliant and secure a source of income, Al-Ahli Bank has completed training for 124 Saudi girls in handicrafts and arts and crafts as part of its various community service programs, specifically the girls“ training component under the ”Al-Ahli for Productive Families,” which includes a variety of training courses held by the bank in various regions of the Kingdom.
The courses were held in collaboration with numerous charitable organizations in the Kingdom, and serve as a testament to the fruitful cooperation between Al-Ahli Bank and its partners in the field of community service. This is an extension of the bank’s outstanding efforts to support these families and empower women in this demographic to acquire skills that enable them to be productive and help them become independent fromcharitable organizations, thereby opening new horizons for them to build their futures and play an active role in society.
The graduates received basic training in handicrafts, including accessories, beading, embroidery, weaving, basketry, cooking, and glass painting. The duration of these courses ranged from one to two months. At the end of each course, certificates were awarded to the trainees who successfully completed the training, and they were provided with all the raw materials and other supplies needed to begin production from home, such asa loan from Al-Ahli Bank to pursue this activity.
For his part, Engineer Mahmoud Al-Turkistani, Vice President and Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at Al-Ahli Bank, explained that during the first nine months of last year, the bank organized more than 85 craft courses as part of the Al-Ahli Program for Productive Families, benefiting 1,,877 young women in more than 39 cities, villages, and governorates, in collaboration with more than 53 partners, including charitable associations, chambers of commerce, and community-based social development committees and centers affiliated with the Ministry of Social Affairs. The bank aims to train 1,,300 young women from various cities across the Kingdom during the same year.
