The Ministry of Health issued a statement regarding the measures and precautions it took during this year's Hajj season (1434 AH), confirming that the Hajj is free of epidemic and quarantine diseases, as follows:
Pursuant to the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Second Deputy, may God protect them all, to take care of the pilgrims and provide the best medical services for them so that they can perform their rituals with ease and comfort.
Based on the Ministry of Health's concern for the safety of pilgrims, the Ministry has mobilized all its human, material and technical capabilities to provide health services at all levels of prevention, treatment, ambulatory and awareness-raising.
Based on this, the Ministry of Health has taken a set of precautions, preparations and procedures in this year's Hajj season (1434 AH), which are as follows:
First, the National Scientific Committee for Infectious Diseases, which includes an elite group of consultant physicians in infectious diseases, public health, family and community medicine from various health sectors in the Kingdom, set policies for preventive work for infectious diseases of importance and health requirements that must be met by those coming to Hajj, and update them periodically to keep pace with global changes and developments.
Second: Raising the degree of preparedness and readiness towards emergencies and developments related to all diseases, especially the coronavirus, and strengthening epidemiological and preventive monitoring procedures for this virus and other diseases.
Third: Applying the health requirements for this year's Hajj season to all incoming pilgrims, including measures related to the coronavirus, and intensifying early epidemiological surveillance work on land, sea and air through health monitoring centers.
Fourth: Providing all laboratory equipment and operational materials to perform all the necessary laboratory analyzes and tests for all viruses, vectors and pathogens, as the standard sampling program has been implemented, using high-tech laboratory equipment, providing blood and its derivatives, equipping the ministry's laboratories with the necessary devices, solutions and materials to detect the Corona virus, and intensifying epidemiological investigation teams and environmental health teams to monitor food and water
Fifth: Continuing to develop health centers, and developing therapeutic services such as open heart surgery, dialysis, endoscopy, critical care, laboratories and blood banks in Makkah, Madinah, the holy sites and King Abdullah Medical City in Makkah.
Sixth: Developing ambulatory services, providing them with modern diagnostic and therapeutic devices to provide field treatment; as well as applying the ambulance follow-up system and directing them to serve patients in need in their locations.
As a result of the precautions and measures taken by the Ministry of Health, and based on the results of field surveys, and after reviewing the reports of the Ministry's health committees, and the statistics, reports and indicators of the safety of this year's Hajj; and the absence of any outbreak of epidemic or quarantine diseases among pilgrims, praise be to God.
Therefore, I am pleased to announce the decision of the Health Committee that this year's Hajj is safe and free of epidemic or quarantine diseases.
May Allah protect the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Second Deputy, and make this country safe and secure, and accept the pilgrims' pilgrimage and return them to their countries with full health and well-being.
