King Saud University will organize the closing ceremony of the third edition of the Prince Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf Award for Humanizing Cities on Sunday, in the presence of His Highness Prince Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf, Chairman of the Award's Board of Directors.

The award, organized and supervised by the College of Architecture and Planning at King Saud University, is a pioneering national initiative that aims to consolidate the concept of humanizing cities and enhancing the quality of urban life by supporting research and projects that provide innovative solutions to urban challenges, in line with the objectives of comprehensive development and the Kingdom's outstanding programs to support humanization of cities.

The dean of the College of Architecture and Planning at King Saud University said. Dr. Abdulaziz bin Jarallah Al-Dughaisham, Dean of the College of Architecture and Planning and Vice Chairman of the Award Board, explained that the Award has become an advanced national platform to support scientific research and urban creativity, noting that it has contributed to enhancing academic and professional awareness about the importance of adopting the principles of humanizing cities and building more humane and sustainable urban environments.

<He pointed out that the award includes four main branches that form an integrated framework for discovering scientific talents and quality projects in Saudi universities, including: Peer-reviewed scientific research, scientific research grants, graduate student research, and undergraduate projects.

For his part, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Hassan, Head of the Department of Urban Planning and Secretary of the Award Council, explained that the third edition witnesses the launch of the Urban Studio initiative in its second edition in partnership with Saudi universities, an initiative that aims to provide an advanced educational and applied environment that contributes to the advancement of urban design and planning programs.

For his part, Dr. Al-Hassan pointed out <Al-Hassan pointed out that the initiative enables male and female students to develop projects that humanize cities and enhance human interaction with the urban environment, in addition to encouraging the exchange of experiences between colleges of architecture and planning in the Kingdom. He stressed that the initiative provides qualitative proposals for the development of arterial streets and urban areas, contributing to raising the quality of life and improving the urban experience for residents, noting that this initiative represents one of the new development tracks of the award, and comes to enhance the integration between academic education, scientific research, and practical application, and enable national competencies to contribute to shaping the future of the Kingdom's cities.
