The second edition of the Architecture and Design Research Conference (ADRC 2025) kicks off today in Jeddah, under the title Documentation in Architecture and Design, and runs until December 6, 2025, and aims to explore, analyze and discuss documentation theories and their applications, discuss current and future documentation challenges and solutions, review the latest practices and techniques in documenting architectural and design projects, and highlight the impact of cultural and historical context on architectural and design projects.

Documentation in Architecture and Design (ADRC 2025) is organized by Architecture and Design Commission. The conference, organized by Architecture and Design Authority, will witness the participation of a group of local and international experts, academics and practitioners in various fields of architecture and design to discuss a number of topics and issues related to documentation, and put forward diverse opinions and perspectives based on rich experiences and expertise, thus contributing to promoting dialogue and knowledge enrichment.

The conference seeks to integrate current and future documentation solutions, review the latest practices and techniques in documenting architectural and design projects, and highlight the impact of cultural and historical context on architectural and design projects. The conference seeks to integrate theories and applications through innovative modern methodologies, to create an archive containing a large number of concepts and practices related to architecture and design, specifically related to documentation, to promote cooperation between different disciplines in order to contribute to raising the quality and accuracy of documentation, and to benefit from the diverse experiences and expertise of the participants in the conference.

The conference includes a number of topics and issues related to documentation. The conference includes a number of discussion sessions that aim to discuss documentation strategies, theories and practices in architecture and design, including national strategies for documenting Saudi design and architecture, the urban and urban narrative of the Kingdom, contemporary practices in documenting architecture and design, artificial intelligence and the future of archiving.
