Strategic partnership between NHC and Roads Authority to capitalize on demolition waste in the road network

The Roads Authority explained in a statement that this strategic partnership will enhance the integration between road projects and housing projects, raising the quality of roads by sharing the results of recycling construction waste, in addition to reusing scraped asphalt to enhance the sustainability of road projects, and exchanging experiences and capabilities between the two entities to achieve the highest levels of excellence and quality performance, in addition to exchanging ideas, initiatives and joint events that contribute to the implementation and maintenance of roads with sustainable materials and innovative solutions.

KDIPA noted that this partnership promotes environmental sustainability, while emphasizing its commitment to encouraging innovation and adopting advanced global practices to provide a safer, more sustainable and efficient road network.

KDIPA confirmed that it will continue to implement future projects aimed at improving and developing the road network in the Kingdom by continuing fruitful cooperation with its partners, including NHC, with the aim of raising the quality of roads in residential neighborhoods and improving the quality of life in the road sector.

This is in line with the objectives of the sector program to reduce road fatalities to less than 5 cases per 100,000 population, reach the sixth place globally in the Road Quality Index by 2030, cover the road network with traffic safety factors according to the International Road Assessment Program (IRAP) classification, and maintain a distinct level of services consistent with the absorptive capacity of the road network. This stems from the Authority's pivotal role in supervising and regulating the road sector, and its relentless endeavor to achieve the objectives of the Road Sector Strategy, which focuses on safety, quality, and traffic density.
