The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) is making ( GaStat intensive efforts to update the general framework for population and housing in various regions of the Kingdom, which continues until the third of Rajab for the current year 1437 AH.

Taysir Al-Mafraj, the official spokesperson of the General Authority for Statistics, explained that according to the General Statistics Law issued by the Council of Ministers, all information and data provided by citizens and residents are kept and dealt with in complete confidentiality, and are utilized in multi-purpose "sample" household studies and research, for which the general framework of the General Population and Housing Census 1431 is the main source of samples for these studies and research.

The spokesperson emphasized that this update comes in line with the changes in the information and data available to the Authority since the last population and housing census five years ago, adding that the general framework is the records of all units of the statistical community and includes the names and addresses of neighborhoods, blocks, buildings and dwellings.

The field is witnessing these days a statistical movement of about (1000 employees and collaborators ((1000) who number and count buildings and housing, and update information of families and individuals in 3,688 count areas."

It is noteworthy that the current framework updates are completely different from the upcoming preparations for the General Census of Population, Housing and Establishments, which will be carried out by the General Authority for Statistics in 2020.
