The 23rd International Conference on Asset Management, Facilities and Maintenance, which was held from January 12 to 14, 2026, in Riyadh, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, with the participation of a wide range of Their Excellencies and Excellencies, and a group of experts, specialists, academics and professionals from inside and outside the Kingdom, concluded in the city of Riyadh, under the generous patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz.

Dr. Zuhair Al Sarraj, Chairman of the conference, stated that an intensive scientific and professional program was held, which included twenty-one specialized workshops, in addition to two training programs on excellence in asset management and professional facilities management. The conference was accompanied by the AFM Expo, which included pavilions for about 70 participating entities.

A total of 85 speakers and experts from 25 countries participated in the conference, offering their professional expertise and experience through fourteen scientific sessions and panel discussions, in addition to hosting special meetings of the International Maintenance Organization (IMA), which strengthened the international dimension of the conference and its position as a leading professional platform in this vital sector.

70 specialized booths at AFM Expo

The conference was also accompanied by the AFM Expo, which featured 70 specialized booths for assets, facilities and maintenance, forming an interactive platform to showcase technical solutions and innovations, and contributed to enhancing professional networking, exchanging experiences and building professional partnerships among participants, supporting the development of this vital sector.

The conference was attended by a group of speakers and experts from different countries of the world, who presented their professional experiences and specialized insights through scientific sessions and rich panel discussions, which discussed the most prominent current challenges, reviewed future development opportunities, digital transformation models, artificial intelligence applications and digital twinning in asset management, facilities and maintenance.

The conference also formed a platform for institutional dialogue and integration of roles between different sectors, and contributed to the transfer of knowledge and exchange of successful experiences, reflecting on the development of policies and practices, raising the level of operational efficiency, and achieving sustainability in asset, facilities and maintenance management.

8 conference recommendations

Based on the working papers presented, the scientific and professional interventions and discussions, and the outcomes of the sessions and workshops, the participants issued a number of recommendations aimed at supporting development paths, promoting digital transformation, and raising the efficiency of asset management, facilities and maintenance, as follows:

1- Urge various organizations to pay attention to the applications of artificial intelligence and digital twinning, and provide the appropriate environment and procedures to activate their application in asset management, facilities and maintenance, as they have a great impact on raising the quality of performance and reducing costs, and to improve the methods of supporting maintenance decisions and the need to take into account the requirements of cybersecurity to protect operational and maintenance systems, and allocate a clear mechanism in maintenance and facilities management to update cybersecurity applications and reviews and focus on asset risk assessments and system sensitivity to increase reliability and reduce risks.

1- Urge various organizations to pay attention to artificial intelligence applications and digital twinning and provide the appropriate environment and procedures to activate their application in asset management, facilities and maintenance, as they have a great impact on raising the quality of performance and reducing costs.

2- Participants recommend taking advantage of the guidance document for digital transformation steps in the field of facilities and maintenance management published by the International Maintenance Organization (IMA) and developing measurement indicators to identify the feasibility of transformation steps to facilitate the exchange of experiences and experiences between Arab countries, compare them with what has been achieved globally in this field, develop strategies to measure the readiness of facilities to apply digital twinning, and benefit from the expertise of specialized consultants in this field.

2- Participants recommend taking advantage of the guiding document for digital transformation steps in the field of facilities and maintenance management published by the International Maintenance Organization (IMA).

3- That the Saudi Association for Asset, Facility and Maintenance Management and the Arab Council for Asset, Facility and Maintenance Management, through Umintec Academy, develop a methodology and a guide to develop education and training programs to keep pace with the requirements of digital applications in the management of facilities and maintenance work, and invite the Council to organize higher diploma, executive master's or international fellowship programs in the field of maintenance digitization.

4- That the Arab Council for Asset, Facility and Maintenance Management and the Saudi Association for Asset, Facility and Maintenance Management adopt the launch of an electronic platform on the Council's online portal, to provide an opportunity to exchange experiences between organizations, bodies and companies in Arab countries, to include successful experiences in digital transformation in maintenance and digital twinning applications.
