As part of the Ministry of Housing's cooperation with the non-profit sector to provide adequate housing opportunities for families who are unable to do so, the Ministry of Housing's Developmental Housing Initiative concluded a memorandum of cooperation with the Martyrs of Duty Association, which provides for cooperation between the two parties in the field of housing for the families of martyrs of duty from social security beneficiaries and the like and coordination of efforts in common issues and topics related to both parties.
The memorandum of cooperation was signed in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, where the Ministry of Housing was represented by Abdullah bin Mohsen Al-Nimri, General Supervisor of Developmental Housing, while the Martyrs of Duty Association was represented by Ibrahim bin Saud Al-Barghash, Executive Director.
This agreement comes in an effort to achieve the Kingdom's Vision 2030 to create the necessary environment for the non-profit sector to take the initiative in facing challenges and exploiting opportunities, in addition to empowering the non-profit third sector to be more effective in the housing sector, research, social programs and cultural events
The memorandum stipulated that the Ministry of Housing will provide the second party of the memorandum with the areas of construction of housing projects and the period specified for the launch of each project, in addition to the number of housing units specified for low-income beneficiaries, including social security beneficiaries in each project and the total value of the projects and their housing units, and the memorandum stipulated the creation of effective programs to invest technical, media and information means to facilitate the contribution of all personal and legal categories of society to support affordable housing programs with financial and in-kind donations.
