Owners of buildings in Mecca and Medina warned against providing hospitality or accommodation services to pilgrims without a license

Ministry of Tourism has emphasized that <a href="https://amlak.net.Building owners in Makkah and Madinah must not operate any tourist hospitality activity without a license, and buildings with "temporary hostel“ licenses issued by the Ministry of Tourism should only be operated during the Hajj season.
The emphasis comes in the context of its efforts to regulate the hospitality sector and the activity of housing pilgrims, and to improve the quality of hospitality services provided to the pilgrims in preparation for the upcoming Hajj season. The ministry has worked to regulate the pilgrim housing sector by introducing a service to issue licenses for ”temporary hostels“ for building owners wishing to practice this activity in Mecca and Medina, and launched a service that enables operators of tourist hospitality facilities to increase capacity during the Hajj season according to controls and specifications approved by the ministry, provided that the validity of these services is limited to the Hajj season only.<These services have contributed to increasing the capacity of the hospitality sector in Makkah and Madinah, enhancing the readiness of the sector to receive pilgrims, and providing legal facilities that provide them with quality accommodation services. In this context, the ministry announced that the penalty for practicing tourism hospitality activity without a license is up to one million riyals, and also pointed out that temporary hostel license holders practicing the activity before the Hajj season is a violation of the license requirements, resulting in fines of up to one million riyals in addition to the revocation of the temporary hostel license.The Ministry also stressed on intensifying its monitoring efforts in Makkah and Madinah, and its inspection visits to pilgrims" hostels to ensure their compliance with quality standards and licensing requirements, and to ensure their readiness to receive pilgrims and provide services that enrich their journey and enable them to perform their rituals with ease and tranquility.
