Ministry of Municipalities and Housing announced its operational readiness for the Hajj season 1447 AH through an integrated service and field system in the holy sites, supported by more than 22 thousand field staff working to serve pilgrims along with extensive infrastructure and operational mechanisms that work around the clock; aiming to enhance the quality of services provided to the guests and raise the efficiency of response and health and environmental control during Hajj season.
The ministry explained that the total area of infrastructure in the holy sites exceeded 4.6 million m2, including roads, lighting, bridges, tunnels and storm sewers, in addition to 20 bridges and 18 tunnels that contribute to supporting traffic movement and the smooth movement of pilgrims between different locations.<In terms of cleanliness and environmental sanitation, the ministry has activated more than 88,000 cleaning units, supported by 3,000 field vehicles and equipment, in addition to 1,235 compressor units and 113 ground storage units supporting operational operations, which enhances the efficiency of waste management and maintains a healthy environment within the holy sites.
The ministry operated 66 health and food control centers, in addition to 5 advanced laboratories to carry out daily tests and analyzes. Control teams carry out more than 2,800 field rounds daily, while analyzing about 1,300 laboratory samples on a daily basis, in an extension of the success of last season, which did not record confirmed cases of food poisoning.
In the communications and field response system, operational teams receive and process about 30,000 reports through the “Baladi” platform and related channels, and the system recorded an average response time of only one minute and 13 seconds, an indicator of performance efficiency and speed of dealing with cases and field observations, in addition to preparing two shelter and emergency centers within the readiness plans for the season.<The ministry emphasized that these efforts come within an integrated system of municipal and operational services aimed at improving the experience of pilgrims and achieving the highest standards of safety, health and quality of life in the holy sites during the Hajj season.
