6 development sites in Makkah worth SAR 13.3 billion awarded under the Developed Neighborhoods Program

The projects cover 2.7 million m² in six neighborhoods in Makkah, promoting quality of life, investment and sustainable urban development worth SAR 13.3 billion.

The Royal Commission for Makkah and Holy Sites announced the award of (6) development sites within the Developed Neighborhoods Program, with a total area of more than (2.7) million square meters and an investment value of (13.3) billion riyals, within its efforts to develop the urban environment, enhance the economy and quality of life, and support sustainable development in the Holy Capital.

The Authority explained that the development sites include the neighborhoods of Jarhum South, Khalidiya, Hegla, Hindawiya East, Hindawiya South and Hindawiya West, through alliances that include real estate development and investment companies and investment funds, reflecting the integration of roles between the regulatory and development authorities to implement urban projects with a sustainable economic and developmental impact.<These projects come as an extension of the work of the Developed Neighborhoods Program, which aims to redevelop areas within the priority ranges, by increasing the efficiency of land use, improving infrastructure and public services, addressing urban challenges, and enhancing the investment and development attractiveness of Makkah.

The projects will be implemented according to integrated organizational and technical procedures, including qualification, awarding, approval of plans, technical and executive studies, ensuring the application of the highest planning and engineering standards, achieving balanced urban development, preserving the urban fabric and social cohesion.The Royal Commission pointed out that the Developed Neighborhoods Program is one of the development programs associated with the Royal Commission for Makkah and the Holy Sites, and aims to create sustainable and more efficient urban environments that contribute to improving the quality of life and enhance Makkah's status as a modern city capable of keeping pace with future growth and meeting the needs of residents and visitors.
