The Quality of Life Program Center announced that the city of Riyadh has joined the Global Quality of Life Index (QoLI), a global initiative led by the Quality of Life Program Center in partnership with the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat).

Riyadh’s inclusion in the Global Index is part of the ongoing efforts by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, the Riyadh Municipality, and the Quality of Life Program, to strengthen the capital’s position among the world’s best cities in terms of quality of life and to establish standardized measurement frameworks that enable cities around the world to assess their performance in the areas of health, well-being, the urban environment, and economic and social opportunities.
The Global Quality of Life Index is a comprehensive scientific measurement tool designed to enable city decision-makers to monitor progress in improving residents’ quality of life, through a set of quantitative and qualitative indicators covering multiple areas, including housing, mobility, public services, green spaces, safety, and mental and physical health.

Riyadh’s inclusion in this index reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to a number of factors, including the adoption of global best practices in urban planning and city development, and its commitment to actively participating in international efforts aimed at building more sustainable and livable cities, in line with the objectives of Vision 2030 to make Riyadh one of the most attractive cities in the world to live, work, and invest in.
