The the General Real Estate Authority and the Ministry of Justice to implement the registration of real estate transactions through the Real Estate Registry in five Saudi cities, following the completion of the declaration of real property registration within the urban areas of these cities.
The cities include Dammam, Al-Khobar, Dhahran, Al-Qatif, and Ha’il, while other cities will be announced in due course as they become eligible for the program, depending on each city’s readiness to meet the requirements for physical registration.
The implementation of the Real Estate Registry in the covered cities extends to a range of key real estate procedures, including transfer of ownership, subdivision, consolidation, and merger, as well as the initial physical registration of paper deeds, mortgage services, the management of rights, encumbrances, and obligations, and other services related to the real estate registry.
The General Real Estate Authority and the Ministry of Justice clarified that the transition to conducting real estate transactions through the Real Estate Registry is being carried out in an orderly manner, ensuring the continuity of services provided to beneficiaries and that procedures remain unaffected, while maintaining the reliability of real estate data and records.
The expansion of the real estate registry’s scope is part of efforts to complete the Kingdom’s real estate registration system and to leverage digital services to improve the efficiency of procedures and enhance the user experience in the real estate sector.
