<The studies and designs for the restoration and rehabilitation project of the Dahou neighborhood, conducted by the Supreme Commission for the Development of Riyadh, are nearing completion.
The project aims to preserve the remaining architectural heritage of Riyadh in this neighborhood and to be a center of attraction for heritage and commercial activities.
The project includes developing the building system, constructing infrastructure projects, paving streets, pedestrian walkways and public squares, rebuilding some dilapidated buildings, modifying the facades of modern buildings to match the spirit of the traditional building in the area, and constructing a modern multi-storey building for offices, shops and parking lots.
The Dahu neighborhood is located within the Qasr Al-Hakam area in the area south of Al-Thumairi Street, north of Tariq bin Ziyad Street and east of Sheikh Mohammed bin Ibrahim Street, and is considered the last remaining old and heritage neighborhoods within the walls of the old city of Riyadh, and reflects the urban pattern prevailing in the city at that time, and is characterized by its location within the area that was the center of political, social and economic activities in the city.
