The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) signed a contract with the Bahraini Ministry of Housing to build 1265 housing units of type D11 in the Ramli housing project, worth 56.7 million Bahraini dinars. The agreement was signed by Engineer Bassem bin Yaqoub Al Hamar, Minister of Housing, and representatives of the contracting companies implementing the project in the presence of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Bahrain H.E. Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmalik Al Sheikh, and SFD representatives.
Minister of Housing Engineer Bassem bin Yaqoub Al Hamar said that this agreement is the second of its kind to be signed with the Saudi Fund for Development, after the agreement was concluded earlier to implement the first phase of the southern city, which includes 1560 housing units worth 75. 6 million dinars, under the umbrella of the Saudi Fund for Development.6 million dinars, under the umbrella of the Gulf Development Program, stressing that these contracts are the first of the implementation of the 2017 projects, which are included in the government's work program to implement 25,000 housing units and emanate from the royal order of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to provide 40,000 housing units for citizens.
The Minister of Housing continued that the contracts stipulate the assignment of 4 contracting companies to build 1265 housing units in the Ramli project, where tenders for the project were awarded to Al Mizaal, Luqman Al Haddad Contracting, Al Nisr Contracting and Mohammed Saif Ajlan Al Mannai, after 18 Bahraini, Saudi and international contractors were qualified, noting that the tender for the construction of housing units was launched and opened in the third quarter of last year, and the Ministry delivered the first installment of the project as utilization certificates during the recent distributions.
