Shura urges Commerce to issue a system of chambers of commerce

The Economic and Energy Committee of the Shura Council called for the need to expedite the issuance of the system of chambers of commerce.
In its recommendation on the latest annual report of the Ministry of Commerce, the Committee considered that chambers of commerce and industry have an important role in facilitating business, organizing and documenting the relations of workers in the commercial and industrial sector, and considers them an essential factor in the movement of the national economy and the development of its various sectors.
In its second recommendation on the report, the Economy Committee demanded that «the ministry's report include full and detailed information on the industrial sector, including a report on the national industrial strategy.»

The committee justified the recommendation by the importance of linking the industrial strategy with the content of the Ministry of Commerce's report and assessing the extent to which the plans and information in the report match the national industrial strategy.
