The Saudi Oil and Gas Exhibition (SAOGE 2013), which was inaugurated by Prince Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musa’ad, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, on behalf of Prince Saud bin Nayef, Governor of the Eastern Province, and lasted for three days (November 24–26, 2013), was organized by Dhahran International Exhibitions Company in cooperation with the Italian company IES, featured the participation of more than 180 local and international companies from 25 countries. The exhibition serves as a platform for connecting with new distributors and suppliers in the oil market, It also provided an opportunity to engage in the oil and gas sector through direct meetings with international companies and institutions involved in this industry.
His Highness Prince Jalawi toured the exhibition and praised the massive achievements and large-scale projects he witnessed, which reflect the Kingdom’s policy of leadership and excellence in the oil and gas industry.
For his part, Mohammed Al-Husseini, CEO of Dhahran International Exhibitions, thanked the Governor of the Eastern Province for his patronage of the exhibition’s events, emphasizing that this had a positive impact on participants and organizers and noting that it provided them with strong support as they made significant efforts to deliver the best possible experience.
Al-Husseini explained that the exhibition contributes to supporting investment prospects and attracting more capital to launch additional projects in the most important sectors of the national industry based in the Eastern Province, noting that the exhibition attracted a large number of national and international oil companies and major operating companies, and was attended by senior officials and foreign commercial and economic attachés. Dhahran International Exhibitions Company made significant efforts in organizing the event.
For his part, Amal Al-Muzain, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Machinery and Equipment Company (FAMCO), said «Volvo’s advanced pipe cranes, designed based on the principle of excavators, offer an unmatched combination of stability and lifting capacity, making them among the most productive and safest pieces of equipment in this sector. These advanced cranes can lift and handle heavy pipes smoothly and easily, thanks to their ability to rotate their advanced chassis 360 degrees; they can also position these pipes anywhere around construction equipment.
Hisham Al-Shihab, a sales representative at Kano, emphasized that the Saudi market needs such specialized exhibitions to bring international companies together under one roof and to access the latest technological advancements in the oil and gas industry.
The three Saudi oil giants—which hold oil and gas production rights—Saudi Aramco, Khafji Joint Operations, and Saudi Chevron. This raised a number of questions from companies at the exhibition and visitors regarding the reasons for these companies« absence, while international companies specializing in the oil and gas industry vied to enter the Saudi market for investment purposes by forming partnerships with national companies during the exhibition.
