Real Estate Professionals During Ramadan: Assessing Performance and Planning for the Future
Survey: Abdullah Al-Saleh: During the blessed month of Ramadan, the nature of work in the real estate sector changes, as those working in the industry face a variety of challenges and opportunities. The real estate newspaper «Amlak” conducted a survey with some industry stakeholders and professionals to shed light on how real estate professionals manage their businesses during the holy month, and how they use this time to evaluate their performance and plan for the future, in addition to the impact of Ramadan work schedules on the pace of transactions and customer trends.
Milaf Al-Mashrafi: An Ideal Opportunity for Real Estate Professionals to Review and Evaluate Performance
Milaf Al-Mashrafi, Executive Director of Sima Office, explained that the blessed month of Ramadan represents an ideal opportunity for real estate professionals to review and evaluate their performance, reflect on their achievements, and reassess their strategies, She added that this holy month is an opportune time to prepare for the next phase by developing plans and setting new goals after the end of Ramadan.
Al-Mashrafi noted that work schedules during Ramadan are adjusted to accommodate fasting hours, as activity decreases during the day and increases after iftar, with hours set aside for intensive work in the evening. She reported that some real estate professionals prefer to schedule their work so that tasks requiring direct communication or meetings are completed in the evening.
She said: «The timing of work during Ramadan may affect the speed at which deals are closed, as the pace of operations slows during the day due to reduced working hours and social and spiritual influences; however, with increased activity in the evening, deals may accelerate after iftar.”
Al-Mashrafi emphasized that customer behavior changes during Ramadan, with some customers being more responsive to offers and incentives provided by real estate companies, while others prefer to postpone major decisions due to the spiritual atmosphere and traditions of the holy month.
In a message to real estate professionals; Al-Mashrafi called for flexibility in business dealings, while ensuring that special offers during Ramadan take into account the unique challenges and opportunities of this time, emphasizing the importance of personal relationships and mutual respect in business transactions.
Abdullah Al-Mousa: Developing Plans and Strategies for the Second Half of the Year
Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Mousa, a real estate broker and marketer, highlighted the different pace of real estate activity during the holy month of Ramadan, explaining: «We make sure to reschedule appointments and meetings to accommodate fasting and worship times. Personally, I find that the evening hours after Tarawih prayers are the most suitable for holding meetings and real estate tours, especially given clients” growing preference for digital communication and virtual viewings."
Al-Mousa added: ”I consider Ramadan a strategic two-pronged milestone; it is an important opportunity to review performance during the first quarter of the year, analyze the results, and identify areas for improvement, and at the same time, it is an opportunity to develop plans and strategies for the second half of the year, in preparation for market activity following Eid al-Fitr."
Regarding the impact of Ramadan working hours on the pace of transactions and the completion of real estate deals, Al-Mousa said: ”There is undoubtedly an impact, as the pace of some transactions slows down due to changes in official working hours and clients" personal preferences. However, this slowdown does not mean the market has come to a halt. On the contrary, Ramadan gives us the opportunity to resolve pending issues and focus on serious clients who view the holy month as an opportunity to make well-considered deals away from the hustle and bustle of other seasons."
Al-Mousa emphasized that the real estate market is witnessing a shift in customer trends and decisions during Ramadan; Some clients postpone their decisions until after Ramadan, while others view the holy month as an ideal opportunity to negotiate calmly and take advantage of competitive Ramadan offers. We are also seeing an increase in requests for short-term rentals and inquiries regarding ready-to-move-in residential units.
Al-Mousa called on his clients and all those involved in the real estate market to use this holy month not only for worship, but also to strengthen their business relationships, review their investment plans, and to take advantage of available real estate opportunities with a positive and optimistic spirit. He emphasized that, as real estate brokers and marketers, they are ready to serve them with the utmost professionalism and transparency, and they wish everyone a blessed month filled with success and prosperity.
Malik Al-Juhani: Stepping Up Digital Communication and Virtual Meetings
Malik Al-Juhani, Director of Sales and Reservations at Ma’araj Real Estate, confirmed that those working in the real estate sector during the blessed month of Ramadan are reorganizing their work schedules to suit the nature of the holy month, He noted that the focus is on meetings and site visits in the morning or after iftar, while intensifying digital communication and virtual meetings to facilitate operations without affecting productivity.
Al-Juhani added that the month of Ramadan is an ideal opportunity to review performance and evaluate the previous period on the one hand, and to plan and prepare for the next phase on the other. During this period, the performance of the first quarter of the year is evaluated, past sales and deals are analyzed, and strategies are developed to prepare for the coming period, He explained that the work schedule during Ramadan may lead to a relative slowdown in closing some deals due to changes in working hours and varying levels of client focus; however, on the other hand, some investors take advantage of the quieter market to close deals more quickly, away from intense competition.
Regarding customer preferences and trends, Al-Juhani observes a shift in customer behavior: while some prefer to postpone major decisions until after Ramadan, others view the holy month as an opportunity to close deals, taking advantage of special offers and payment plans provided by some companies to attract buyers.
Al-Juhani advised all customers and investors to use the blessed month of Ramadan to plan carefully and make well-considered investment decisions, and urged everyone to take advantage of Ramadan real estate offers, which may provide exceptional opportunities. He wished everyone a blessed month filled with success and good fortune.
