<The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has announced the imminent entry of three major international companies into the postal and logistics services sector, especially parcel transportation services, which are expected to contribute to the Saudi market with investments worth more than 6 billion riyals.
According to the Ministry, this achievement comes as a culmination of the package of policies and legislations that were recently issued and contributed to making the postal and logistics services market more attractive than before, and the meetings that were held with the Logistics Committee headed by H.E. Minister of Transport and Logistics Engineer Saleh Al-Jasser contributed to the entry of one of them into the field of participation after removing the challenges that were facing their entry into this promising market full of opportunities Especially in light of the availability of many advantages, most notably the fact that the Kingdom is a leading investment power, in addition to its geographical location, which qualifies it to be a hub to connect the three continents Africa, Asia and Europe, as it is 5 hours away by plane from half of the world's population, in addition to its high demand for various goods, as the volume of demand in the Kingdom is equivalent to 75% of
the volume of demand in the Gulf countries, and 50% of the volume of demand in the Arab countries combined.<For his part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology for Postal and Logistics Services, Engineer Khaled bin Abdulaziz Al-Bakri, stressed that the geographical location, the strong digital infrastructure that the Kingdom has and the policies supporting investment will make it a destination and home for major companies, indicating that the three companies coming to the Saudi market will have a clear impact in providing effective and fast services, and their entry will strengthen the Kingdom's position as a major player in the e-commerce market, and contribute to the localization of supply chains.Al Bakri pointed out that the entry of foreign companies will enhance service levels and contribute to improving the customer experience, expressing his thanks to the efforts of partners in the Ministry of Investment, the General Authority for Civil Aviation and the transportation and logistics system, which resulted in this crowning, which comes in line with the objectives of the ambitious Vision 2030 to attract local and international investments and promote the growth of all sectors, including the postal and logistics sector.
