<The Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture have decided to take the necessary measures to protect valley streams and reefs, prevent ownership and construction on them, and remove encroachments on them and their tributaries.

The newspaper «Umm Al-Qura» reported the decisions of the Prime Minister on the final report of the investigation committee into the issue of the disasters that resulted from the rains on Riyadh years ago. The decisions included emphasizing all government agencies, public institutions and independent bodies, to prevent the sale of the conditions and specifications booklet to contractors. It decided to create a mechanism through which the Project Coordination Office in the city secretariats will provide all data on the ground extension works of 6 ministries related to their infrastructure projects, in electronic format and in real time, and make it available to all other service agencies, within a period not exceeding 6 months.<The decisions required the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, and city authorities to intensify control over contractors for the implementation, maintenance and operation of their projects related to rainwater drainage, flood protection and maintenance work for roads and ferries, and emphasize contractors to carry out all their contractual obligations without laxity or negligence, and to commit to maintenance work according to the specified programs, and to benefit from deep tunneling methods to implement flood drainage lines within the cities. The decisions stressed that building permits should not be granted in valleys and reefs, and that services should not reach buildings located in them.
